The main reason I was attracted to this dress is because it can be easily styled for year round looks. I like to build a wardrobe of clothes that I can keep out year round because not only does it save me money but, clothes don’t get forgotten about. It’s pretty easy to have one wardrobe year round in San Diego since the weather doesn’t change much but, a good staple piece, with the right color scheme can be worn in any climate year round!
Pieces that you can layer are the most important items to have in a year round wardrobe. For that reason I really love a flowy dress. Flowy dresses can be worn over pants or cute tops and layered under a jacket. When I saw this dress I instantly imaged the styling possibilities for the colder months to come.
Since it’s been warm here I wore the dress alone and styled it with a pair of wood platforms. The color scheme itself comes off very ‘fall’ but, the lightweight material, and tiered ruffles, exemplify summer style. If I was going to wear this dress in cooler months I would pair it with a jean jacket and some booties. Since this dress creates a beautiful hourglass silhouette I would look for a jacket that is cropped at the waist to accentuate the fit. Lastly, different seasons have different color schemes so, if you looking for a subtle change your look for each season just switch up the accessories! Dark, bold accessories for fall and winter and light, fun accessories in spring/summer!
