Hey Babes! First of all, sorry for skipping last months IPSY Bag review. I didn’t have wifi, as I expected, on my recent vacation so some posts got skipped over and then didn’t fit into my post schedule when I rearranged it. I’ve been posting pretty heavily about fashion recently so I’m excited to switch it up and do a beauty related post today. In addition, I’m foreseeing a lot more beauty posts in the future for you guys! I don’t/ have never seen myself as a beauty guru but I have been learning a lot about beauty, makeup and skin care recently from other bloggers and youtubers that I would love to share with you guys. I’ve interrupted a lot of what I’ve seen/ learned into things that work for me and found some new faves so I’m excited to pass that along to you all!
Anyway, this April’s IPSY bag is so cute! The “movie ticket” style bag the products came in is adorable, and immediately made me want to eat popcorn. Overall, I would rate this bag at a 4/5. I like all the products but I still haven’t had a product in any of my IPSY bags that I’ve fallen totally in love with and want to religiously buy.
For those of you just hearing about IPSY it’s a subscription service that costs just $10 a month for 5 beauty product to be delivered straight to your door. It’s a great way to try new things!
ColourPop Cosmetics Creme Gel Liner: When I first opened this guy up I couldn’t tell what color it was. I found myself searching the website to see what they defined it as, they describe this liner as onyx black. I’m not so sure about this. I only wear black liner and I like it to be as true black as possible, this one, however, has a greenish/ blue hint to it. I would rate this gel liner as ok. It’s a reasonable price so I would want to buy it in a few colors for fun nights out or costume makeup but, I wouldn’t wear it everyday. I’m a huge liquid liner fan so maybe I’m biased! I did like playing around with this on my lower lash line as it does go on smoothly and stays on well.
Marula Oil Transforming Hair Serum: I have to be very careful with hair oils because they have a tendency to make my hair look greasy even when it’s freshly washed, however, with my bleached hair, my hairdresser has been stressing the importance of me using them more often. So, I use the tiniest amount and rub it into the ends of my hair when its damp– it seems to work well. I like this oil, it makes my ends feel soft and healthy. The only negative is it doesn’t have a dropper applicator so its really hard to pour out a small amount without wasting any product.
PS Cosmeceutical Infused Nail Lacquer in Southern Sand: I always have acrylic nails on so I tested this polish out on my toes! It’s such a pretty pearly pink color. The polish itself dries quickly and is very shiny. I like that it has healing properties as an antimicrobial and anti fungal to help keep nails healthy. However, each polish is $15, call me cheap but that seems a bit pricey for a nail polish.
Glamour Dolls X Lisa Frank Angle Blush Brush: This brush is adorable but not something I would have in my makeup bag. If I was a huge Lisa Frank fan or had someone younger to gift this too it would be amazing but I already have a lot of good brushes in my collection and don’t need more. IPSY has sent me a few brushes and they’re all the same shape 🙁 hopefullllyy they’ll send me some eyeshadow brushes soon!! For an inexpensive brush the bristles are soft and flexible and are shaped well for applying makeup.
Elizabeth Molt Show Me Your Glow: This products doubles between a shadow and highlight, the soft champagne color is perfect for a natural glow. I simply use my finger to apply and it goes on my skin smoothly with no fall out and a hint of shimmer.
