This outfit was inspired by one of my favorite San Diego bloggers, Hunt For Styles. Is it creepy that I get excited when I see her photos on Instagram were taken where I take my photos? Even just typing that makes me feel like a creep. I promise I don’t stalk her. More than anything, I pull so much outfit and photo inspo from her because she’s right in my same city and it’s validating to see a successful blogger doing something I’m doing. Although I’m probably fantazing because I’m sure she did it way before me.
A few weeks ago she posted this outfit on Instagram and I immediately saved it because I had just received this velvet blazer from Urban Outfitters. It’s such a busy piece that it can be a little intimidating. I loved her idea of taking the print head on with a busy graphic tee. Boho fashion for me is characterized by lots of color and pattern, and the task in that is making everything balance out. With this outfit my blazer is darker and has a large all over print. The tank top, although it has a picture printed on it, still carries a lot of white space with its dainty designs and thin lines. Allowing these pieces to compliment each other.
The fanny pack and black shoes also bring some contrast to the overall outfit, balancing out the light wash jeans. I love fanny packs, but I never know what to do with my arms in pictures when I’m not carrying a bag! #imawkward
*After staring at these photos, I think the next time I wear this look I’m going to add a statement necklace. Let me know if you copy this look! I’d love to see what accesories you add 🙂
