Napa first timer!! What a beautiful place to visit! On our recent trip North we were supposed to go to Yosemite for a day, but due to wildfires we were unable to. Although I’m still sad I wasn’t able to see Yosemite I know that I’ll be planning another trip soon! Since we had a free day we decided to fill our time by heading up to Napa Valley. If you didn’t know, Napa, California is a wine mecca.
I felt so ritzy as we sipped on $90 bottles of wine and sat in beautifully decorated wineries, all whilst upping our wine knowledge of course! Garrett’s mom kindly offered to be our chauffeur and take Garrett, Kyle and myself on our own little winery tour. They’re usually really expensive! We did the whole Napa day on a budget thanks to Garrett’s mom and Groupon. Garrett always finds the greatest deals on Groupon, we’ve recently been using it for so many things! If you’re looking for a cheap date night I highly recommend logging onto Groupon.
For Napa we bought a total of 4 different Groupons. I’ll linked them all below. Each Groupon allowed us to save 50% or more on our wine tastings. We like to ball on a budget :).
We started at Rutherford winery. We paid $15 each to try 4 different wines, each paired with a different chocolate. The first one we had was the Scott Family Estate Chardonnay paired with a white chocolate lemon bark. At the end of the day we all agreed that this was the best wine we had the opportunity to taste. In the pictures above Rutherford Winery is the one with the orange couches, it was very country chic. We were lucky enough to be the only ones there so our sommelier (I think thats the proper term!!), took us on a tour of the winery. It was amazing to see the mass amounts of wine they produce and the processes involved in each bottle. The other 3 wines we tasted didn’t disappoint and the chocolates from the Vintage Sweet Shoppe were equally as impressive.
Our sommelier at Rutherford was kind enough to give us coupons for 50% off tasting at Conn Creek, the winery across the street. We were winging the whole day so we decided to had over and check it out. I don’t know how much we paid but it was only about $10-15 a person. Wine tasting generally includes 4 wines, but they were friendly enough to allows us to try 6! Here we tried some of the more expensive wines, some almost $100 per bottle! My $4 bottle of grocery store wine will never taste the same!! I’m not a wine expert but the rich red wines were my favorite, especially their flagship beer, the 2014 Anthology. (This winery is pictured above as the wall of wine bottles).
For our next stop we headed into downtown Napa, where every winery has a Instagram worth store front. Our Groupon brought us to Jam Cellars, we paid $9 for each wine flight… we had like 6!! Lets just say, we didn’t make it to our next location! The walls of Jam Cellars were covered in old music memorabilia, I felt like I was in a vintage recording studio. The vibe matched my jumpsuit perfectly and brought out my inner rock star. There Butter Chardonnay was delicious, and from what understand can be easily found in stores if you want to try it!
Alright, lets talk about my outfit. I can’t link the exact products because I’ve had this jumpsuit for at least two years! I purchased it from Haute and Rebellious, an online trendsetting boutique run by a fellow fashion blogger. The clothes she fills her site with never disappoint. In fact, after wearing this jumpsuit, I was inspired to search Haute and Rebellious for some new things. Hopefully, I’ll have a haul coming soon! The shoes are another oldie but goodie from American Eagle, everyone needs basic black sandal that can transform from casual to classy!
