Hi loves! I’m onto my second month of IPSY, YAY! I know I just recently did my January review but it’s because I signed up late in January so they last minute sent me one for last month, and now, I’m receiving my February bag just two weeks later! I’m not complaining! If you haven’t heard of IPSY before it’s a subscription service that sends you 5-6 makeup products each month for just $10. It’s seriously an amazing value since one product alone could cost you more than that. When you sign up you fill out a beauty profile so you know you’ll be getting products that cater to what you’d actually use. So far, I think they have done a great job at pairing me with my products, this month even more so than last month!
Luna by Luna Cosmetics Highlight in Calypso // Value: $23
This highlighter has a beautiful pearlescent’s to it, with under tones of purple and grey I feel a bit like a mermaid when I swatch it on my skin. This super pigmented highlight will definitely have you glowing all day. It makes me think of my mom who once asked me about the ‘lightening bolt’ on my cheek in all our pictures *crying laughing emoji*.
For being a sample size (I think?!) there is a ton of product so I’m happy to say I will have this for awhile. Purple tones generally aren’t the best on my skin but I will definitely use this for special occasions and would buy this highlighter in other shades!
I got so excited when I received this in the mail because my skin was breaking out and dry after wearing my makeup for basically two days straight (I fell asleep with it on 🙁 ). I instantly opened the Black Charcoal Mask and threw it on which is why the package is open in my pictures! I’m still getting used to taking pictures of everything for the blog!
Anyway, the Black Charcoal Mask was just what my skin needed, after use my skin felt soft and hydrated. Unfortunately, my skin did dry a little after some time but I still like this product. I also wish that the mask was made to fit around the nose area better, my nostrils and nose are my problem areas and I like when a mask sits snug around them. I had to configure the mask in a semi uncomfortable way so that it would fully cover my nose. Overall, it did its job as a mask and I would buy again, especially for the price.
It’s hard for me to review the Nature Green Tea Mask because, like most masks, you’re supposed to use them multiple times a week to start seeing results. After use my skin did feel tighter but not dry which was good and I noticed a reduction in the size of my pores.
NYX Butter Lipstick in Ripe Berry // Value: $5.99
I’m happy they sent me this product as well because I’ve been wanting the try NYX lipsticks for some time now, and I love other products NYX creates. This lipstick has a build-able pigment and applies smoothly leaving your lips feeling hydrated. My only ‘con’ for this lipstick would be that because the formula is so lightweight the lipstick wears of easily. I’m always stocking up on lipsticks at the drugstore so I’m sure I’ll have more NYX colors in my collection soon.
Absolute New York Nano Liner Ultra Fine Precision Liquid Liner // Value: $8.89
I wear winged eyeliner everyday so this product was perfect for my IPSY bag. I first tested it on my hand and it definitely is precise the line is super thin and the product comes of smoothly. For my eyeliner this product is almost too precise since I like a thick wing I had to keep building and filling my wing in until I got it perfect. As I did this the applicator got dry and I had to keep shaking the product to pull more product out.
Royal and Langnickel MODA Fan Brush // Value: $5.99
First of all, I like that this product is 100% vegan. Personally, I’ve never been a big of fan brushes, I don’t feel that they apply my highlighter heavy enough and don’t place product exactly where I want it to be. This brush is super soft though and I like the overall quality of it so maybe I’ll try some other styles of brushes from them.
I hope you guys enjoyed these products! You can sign up for IPSY here.
