The holidays are upon us which means plenty of opportunities to get dressed up for the festivities. For my first holiday look I paired up this wool skirt from Urban Outfitters (similar) with a cropped turtleneck from Misguided. The outfit has a flirty feel to it yet is still conservative enough for family time. However, if you want to be more covered up or just need this outfit to work in a colder climate throw on some tights, maybe ones with a cute pattern, and you’ll be good to go.
Why I love this skirt: it’s comfy, it has pockets, it goes with everything and, most importantly, it has a twirl factor which make it perfect for dancing- enough said.
This turtleneck is a great seasonal basic. The material is soft and stretchy, but doesn’t stretch out. While it is a crop top its not cut too short, and therefore, just the right amount of stomach can show through. So far I’ve worn it with multiple bottoms I own and it looks great layered under a jacket.
Black + velvet + Mary Jane’s + multiple silver buckle details… can you really go wrong?! These adorable shoes from Topshop are a current go to. Everything in this outfit is so versatile, you can take any piece and add it to another look and it will bring a whole new outfit to life. I’m not one to wear high heels regularly so I usually aim for a shoe that has a heel high enough to add some dynamic to the leg but low enough to walk comfortably in, that being said I did get some blisters from these shoes but I think they just need to be broken in a bit more.
Keeping consistent with the black and white theme of this outfit I broke out my favorite color-blocked Michael Kors bag. To tell a quick story, my boyfriend actually bought me this bag while we were in Las Vegas! We were walking down the strip and checking out all the stores and when we reached MK he told me to pick any bag I wanted. This was for no special occasion, so I was so shocked and happy that I started crying in the store; so embarrassing. After that I used this bag almost everyday as a ‘backpack’ while I was in school. Now that I’m not in school this bag gets a little less use but it’s still loved. It’s perfect for this look since it adds another texture/pattern, therefore, although this outfit is all black and white it doesn’t come off as monotonous.
