I’m slowly starting to pack for my trip home to Connecticut and the one thing I know I’m going to need is a lot of warm clothes. The only problem is, that’s the one thing that I don’t have living out here in San Diego. Last year I cleaned out a lot of my closet and donated most of my winter clothes because I couldn’t see myself wearing them anymore. It felt good to get rid of stuff, but it left me in a position where I now have nothing to wear home. I knew this year that I wanted to invest in some new jackets. It does get chilly in San Diego sometimes, so I’ve been looking for stylish coats that I can wear with layers for the different climates. Which is why I’ve been obsessing over fur, they’re warm and gorgeous.
The teddy coats and shearling coats have been so popular this year. However, being the princess that I am, I think I’m more of a full fur girl. I think fur coats are super lux looking and, surprisingly, you can find them at really good prices. When I buy a higher priced items, like a jacket, I do a lot of research and I’ll stalk it for weeks waiting for my favorites to go on sale. Especially around the holidays you can find some really good deals! The goal is to get the first jacket on such a good sale that there’s some wiggle room to buy a second!
The beautiful jacket I’m wearing in this post I modeled for a local boutique, Mimi and Red. Their shop is all about boho lux styles. This jacket is so unique with the herringbone color block patterning, I wish I was lucky enough to keep it! I went full “mob wife” with the over the knee boots and vinyl skirt. Possibly a New Years Eve Outfit?!
