This Christmas has been SO busy. Since I flew into Connecticut I feel like I have been going non-stop. I was originally planning on getting a ton of work done and laying on the couch, but I guess my family had other plans for me. I’m not mad though! It’s been great seeing everyone and getting to spend time over the holidays. Hopefully, over the next few days I’ll have some time to play catch up. Tomorrow I fly out of here, perfect timing since the temperature is dropping by the day, and I’ll be heading to San Fransisco to spend a few days with Garrett’s family for the New Year before we both head back to San Diego.
My parents are divorced so our holiday schedule is usually a little extra busy. We spend Christmas Eve and Christmas morning with my Dad, and then Christmas day with my mom. On Christmas eve my sis and I met up with my dad around 5 for church, which lasts about an hour, and then headed to our Aunts house for dinner and drinks. This year all the grandkids, on both sides of my family, were home, which is extremely rare. Now that we’re older Christmas is so much more fun, we’ve all become more comfortable with each other and, of course, can have a few drinks. By the end of the night we were having a dance party in the living room.
This year for the holidays I kept my outfits casual. Normally I’d wear a dress or something but it’s too cold! And even in my jeans and sweater I was more dressed up than 90% of the people at church. ‘Dressed up’ around here is considered casual in San Diego. (Pro tip: tucking in your sweater will instantly transform your outfit, making it more stylish and giving you shape)
Lets talk outfit deets: The sweater is from Urban Outfitters, I went with olive green because I don’t own anything else that color and I thought green would be festive for Christmas. The sleeves have a little puffy, feather detail on them that makes the sweater really unique. Because I didn’t want to look too casual I wore dark wash jeans. This pair from Zara has the BEST fit, and the cuffed bottom looks so good with heels. I accessorized with the cutest earrings that I got in my Rocksbox this month, they look like silver and gold starbursts- perfect for the holidays! Then a suede Zara bag that has some fringe beading to add some sparkle. AHH almost forgot about the jacket, it’s been my life saver this trip ad is less than $100!!
